Zeovit
Firstly, Zeovit is a schedule to enable a reef to become ultra low and stable in nutrients, the benefits in a reef can be immense with the correct dosage and regime. This systems serves to adjust a reefs nutrients and maintenance of water conditions close to parameters that corals encounter in there natural environment. This is no quick fix to a stunning, colourful reef but with time and patience just look at the forums detailed below and see what is possible.
The basic system consists of a –Reactor - Not essential to start with but is beneficial the alternative is passive flow in a mesh bag that will require kneading twice a day. Zeovit - Quantity and water flow is critical to its success. A flow of 200-400 litres per hour. Zeobak – Micro organism solution Zeofood 7-Food source. Zeostart 2- Nitrate and phosphate reducer It is also essential to have a quantity (depending on the size of the system) of quality activated carbon passively in the sump, replaced every 30 days. Once established there are many other additives and foods that enhance and benefit your reef and its inhabitants. Some of these can be used without the full Zeovit system benefiting your reef.
BEFORE COMMENCING ON THIS SYSTEM YOU WILL NEED STABLE LEVELS FOR THE FOLLOWING TO ACHIEVE THE BEST RESULTS.
Ca 380-420 Then you can increase the potassium levels as below; K+ -380 “Potassium levels essential for the maintenance of any reef that contains SPS corals, low levels result in tissue narcosis.” You will also need Efficient strong skimming, set to skim a little wet.
Recommended RBS- reefers best - D&D H2O or Ref Crystals. There is no place for Ozone-Phosphate removers – nitrate reducers or UV in the Zeovit method. If you are still interested in giving Zeovit a try log on to the web site above and have a look at the forum, in English there are 3 or 4 top quality “experts” –G Alexander and Aged Salt are 2 of them that are always on hand to give out free advice and will even start you off with a recommended dosing regime if you require one, so long as you provide a little info on your system. The images below are of the store marine setup using zeovit, zeobak and zeostart.
1. Zeobak 2. Zeostart 3. Zeovit ZEObak contains several bacterial strains, used in combination with ZEOfood and ZEOstart building up bacteria plankton. That is absorbed by many corals. Contains several bacterial strains that form a chain to reduce unwanted substances. 1.
Dose directly into the tank. ZEOstart 2 was developed for reefers who want optimum water parameters in a biological way. It promotes the reproduction of all nitrifying bacteria in the aquarium and is therefore very effective in reducing phosphate and nitrate, nitrite and several inhibitors. The skimmer removes up to 100 % more concentrated adsorbent. Bacteria dependent slime algae dissappears rapidly and a biological balance is re-established. This product is not only for the initial phase, it should be dosed every day in all tanks. It enhances the metallic colors on Acropora, Montipora, Poccilopora and Stylophora. Soft corals grow faster and open the polyps wider. Dose directly into the water. Swich off the skimmer briefly if possible. Do not increase dosage of 2 ml per 250 gallons/1000 L daily – please not that it is highly concentrated. Overdosing is dangerous for all fish! ZEOvit® is a balanced mix of different zeolites. It is an absolutely natural Zeolite mix of highest quality. Run the ZEOvit® in a special ZEOvit® filter. Please note: 1.
The ZEOvit® always has to be clean. To clean the material, push and
pull the rod of the filter daily, which can be done simple, fast and
easy within a minute. If used together with ZEObak and ZEOfood you can eliminate with the ZEOvit® Nitrate and Phosphate from your tank, and with some patience you will get very natural coral reef water after some time. your corals then will maintain their natural color and growth.
