Nitrate Reactor Recharge

Dissolve Approximately 50gm of salt in 2 litres of water. Arrange a simple, small bore siphon system from this salt solution to allow water to run through the unit awaiting re-charge, at a maximum flow rate of 0.25 litre per minute. (The slower the flow the greater the contact time given and therefore the better regeneration gained).

Whist re-charging the system the unit should be mounted or stood vertically and the salt solution should be flowing against the normal usage flow direction.

Following completion of salt regeneration a clear water flow should (again backwashing against the normal flow at 0.25ltr/min for 30 min). After the 30 minutes, a fast flush for just 2 minutes maximum will re-establish the media bed and leave the unit ready for re-use.
