This is the Refugium Sump for reef systems. When you want a reef system but do not have the room for the normal sump system underneath this system fits on the back of your tank, in this case, its fitted to a Rio 125 tank. Capacities: 20 - 40 Gal or 40 - 80 Gal.

An economic alternative is to go the DIY route and make up what I call Seafood Surprise - the surprise, for the fish, is never knowing what they’re getting as it rarely contains the same ingredients twice in a row! Pay a visit to your local supermarket and have a look at the fish counter. You’ll find different species available depending on the time of the year, just pick the ones you fancy. I tend to look for squid, scallops, roe, milt, oysters, shrimp, etc.
Only pick items that have no added preservatives, and previously frozen items are OK. Roughly chop all the ingredients. I usually add a few sheets of nori (seaweed) that has been pre-soaked in RO water, 5 ml or so of Zoecon (a Kent product that contains HUFAs, marine lipids, and omega-3 fatty acids), and you could also add iodine, vitamins or the magic powder of your choice!

Mix well and leave for 15 minutes to allow any supplements to soak in (lock the cat out of the kitchen), pour into a blender and liquify. You now carefully spoon this aromatic creation into a number of zip seal bags, flattening each bag to make it as thin as possible as you squeeze the air out, Seal the bags and place in your freezer compartment. When you want to feed, just break off the amount you need.
